Hi, this is Mike Kasper.  I live in New York and I run myfreepersonals.com, for free.  I can promise you that it will always be 100% free to use.  Eleven years ago I registered the domain name with the intention of launching a free personals site for a general audience.  I had run social networking sites before and I always hoped open source software could eventually be used to launch a completely free personals web site to compete with the yahoo.com and match.com pay sites dominating the online dating scene at the time.  Pay sites rake in huge profits from people looking for love.  Their costs are low and their profits are high.  It just doesn't seem right.  My goal was to put them out of business.

Unfortunately, I never found the right software with the capabilities I needed, and in the mean time several other free personals sites sprang up to fill that gap.  Then one day I heard about Elgg, an open source solution that has been in constant development for almost as long as this free dating site idea has been bouncing around in my head.  Anyway, after some more investment on my part and some help from the folks at Elgg, we built the site in about a month.

MyFreePersonals.com went live on January 1, 2011!

MyFreePersonals is a completely free dating site that will never charge you any fees ever for anything, although I do display banner advertisements, which is how I pay the bills.  Please contact Mike at MyFreePersonals dot Com if you have any questions.
