So there is an argument going on in the UN that over transgender protection laws currently being passed or considered around the world. http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=104829

Right now transgender is typically defined as anyone identifying mentally as the gender opposite their birth gender...cute but mildly effective I suppose...the problem they have with it is that its self identifying with no physical proof. Maybe we need a big T burned into our foreheads.

Some women’s groups are in uproar and raging that with a definition so broad there will be a sudden deluge of men raping and assaulting women in women’s spaces, bathrooms, change rooms etc...To prove their point they throw up a few anecdotes of peeping toms in women’s dresses. Some if these anecdotes themselves strain credibility but that is a discussion for another time.

All I can say to all of this is wtf? How low is our opinion of men here? Okay pretty low apparently but really are women allowed to peep on women? Is that not a crime? Are women allowed to rape women? Is that not a crime? So where do these rights groups get off? Oh well the incidents of women assault/peeping/raping women is low they say...well sorry honey the incidents of t-girls doing that is infinitesimal too. How many women let other women get away with peeping on them, perhaps a study on that might help us here?

It’s not like we could not throw up our own anecdotes of women peeping on women, taking photos etc for whatever perverted reason (often because they want to please their bf’s creepy as that is) of women assaulting women even raping women. Its rare but it happens and its even more rare to report it cause hey lets face it society is freaked out by LGBT people and admitting you got raped by a woman as a woman is going to haunt you as much if not more than being raped by a man. Maybe we should do a study on that too?

So what are we really arguing here? We need a narrower definition of trans? Are we going to make transwomen carry medical ID to prove they are trans before entering a washroom? Fyi there is no way to prove anyone is trans even if you are on hormones and have gone through surgeries, there is nothing physical to point to other than you have gone as far as taking pills and cutting yourself up. Are women’s groups also going to claim you cant let any t-girl in proof or no since proof might be easy enough for a pervert to fake? Are we going to tell poor transwomen they are basically screwed because they can’t afford proof...sorry honey you have to go into the male side and get abused/raped/assaulted, cause you know women are terrified you might peep.

So I ask again wtf? Why are women’s groups hating on transwomen so much? How did they manage to get transwomen on their side? Well there is an obvious plethora of possible excuses from cliquism to self hate to just plain wanting to be part of a group that will never accept you...sorry honey most cis girls think t-girls are freaks. Do we really think narrowing a definition is going to help cis girls or transpeople in any way? Do we think it’s going to cut down on incidents of peeping or flashing? Hey if a cis girl flashes me I can have her arrested you know.

I hate to bring up the old ghost of feminists hating on transwomen as ‘not real women’ and ‘invaders of women’s spaces’ but this is really what it feels like is going on here.

Now here is something else to terrify all you t-girls out there. A cis girl can at any time cry peep/assault/rape at any t-girl and that t-girl is going to jail. Makes me wonder how many t-girls have been sent to prison because some cis girl felt icky around them. Oh and before you get all high and mighty about ‘women would never do that’ all I can say to that is, whatever. Wow what power we give to cis girls. We already gave cis guys the gay panic defence so hey trans people are not real people anyway let’s find new ways to mess with their lives.

Now how about transmen are they allowed into women’s spaces. So if they peep on a women then show they officer their vagina they get off? Well the officer might. Is this more of the same old bullshit women spaces are for women born women only? So where are the t-girls supposed to go? To men’s spaces? Wow they wont lead to massive abuse. Do we need tranny spaces so all the t-girls can get attacked by that deluge of male rapists the women’s groups are talking about?

One last terrifying thought. Have these women’s groups thought of anything I have said so far? If not it seems like they are just being blind, arrogant and/or letting fear control them. If they have thought about what I have said I weep for women everywhere. It means these groups will have considered the paranoia of their arguments, the tiny increase in incidents that might happen, because let’s face it nobody has any idea of what would happen unless you look at statistics of countries that have had these laws in effect for a while, and I have yet to hear a peep about a massive rise in assaults by trannies on cis girls anywhere. And if they have thought about the issues these groups have considered the harm they are going to do to t-girls everywhere and they just don’t care. Maybe we should go back to the solution someone came up with not too long ago. Should we t-girls be forced to wear a pink triangle sewed to our clothes again?
