I have to admit when I found an article about how Nepal is allowing a third gender onto their census and personal identification I had mixed feelings. Would I want to be considered a third gender? Am I as trapped as everyone else in the gender binary? But then I came to think how tragic it was that a third world government had managed more social awareness on the issue of gender identity than any first world government out there today. Perhaps its time we firstworlders rethink our lives?
